
Medical Receptionist

We are seeking a friendly and professional Medical receptions to join our small, busy gynaecology practice, working part time for 2 days per week at our North Shore Private Hospital rooms. Previous medical reception experience is preferable. The successful candidate must be able to work longer hours on the consulting days. Free parking will mostly be available on your work days at North Shore.
What you will be doing:
- Ensuring exceptional patient care and service
- Actively answering phone calls in a professional and friendly manner
- Scheduling new and existing patient appointments
- Effectively controlling patient data, appointments, clinical files and correspondence
- Completing patient invoicing, quotes, procedural billing and reconciliation
- Managing surgical bookings, including surgical quotes, patient information and submission of theatre lists and liaising with hospital bookings office and theatre teams.
- Managing all patient enquiries
- Typing and sending out patient consulting letters
- Communicating with other professionals
- Completing day to day administrative tasks such as daily emails, correspondence, faxing, scanning, patient recalls, referrals, purchasing, banking and invoicing
What we are looking for:
- At least 1 year of working experience as a Medical Receptionist preferable.
- The ability to work 2 days per week and be flexible with work hours.
- Preferred experience in Gentu, Eclipse and Medicare, but not essential
- Ability to multitask and show initiative with investigative and problem solving skills
- Proficient in typing and Microsoft Office Suite, with excellent computer literacy
- Excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritise
- Strong organisational and attention to detail skills
- High level written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
- Be trustworthy with the ability to maintain patient confidentiality and privacy
- Be punctual, reliable and well presented at all times
- The successful candidate should be flexible to assist with leave/sick cover if required at the Randwick and City Rooms.
- Must have unrestricted Australian work rights. No temporary visa holders will be accepted.
- Minimum year 12 completion or equivalent qualification.
