We're seeking a Systems Engineer / Senior Design Engineer to join our dynamic team. In this role, you'll lead the design and validation of mechanical systems—including hydraulic and pneumatic subsystems—using advanced engineering techniques and 3D CAD modelling. You'll play a key role in supporting custom CTO/ETO projects, ensuring seamless integration across mechanical, electrical, and software disciplines.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform engineering calculations and FEA to validate design integrity.
- Design and integrate hydraulic/pneumatic systems for safe and reliable operation.
- Develop system-level schematics and general arrangement drawings.
- Modify and enhance standard and bespoke products to meet customer needs.
- Apply parametric 3D CAD modelling (Autodesk Inventor) for efficient workflows.
- Support cost estimation and generate technical documentation across the product lifecycle.
- Systems Integration
- Develop system concepts and integration plans for CTO/ETO projects.
- Coordinate requirements across mechanical, electrical, and control systems.
- Maintain architecture documentation to support modularity and reuse.
- Collaboration & Support
- Work closely with production, sales, service, and installation teams.
- Assist with custom design quotes, feasibility checks, and proposal drawings.
- Participate in factory acceptance testing and provide troubleshooting support.
- Leadership & Mentoring
- Guide junior engineers and promote best practices in design methodology.
- Foster a collaborative engineering culture and support continuous improvement.
- Product & System Improvement
- Lead value engineering and risk assessments (e.g., DFMEA).
- Drive product enhancements based on field performance and customer feedback.
- Support Engineering Change Orders with thorough documentation.
About You:
Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
Proven experience in mechanical system design and integration.
Strong proficiency in 3D CAD ( Preferably Autodesk Inventor )and FEA tools.
Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
Experience mentoring junior engineers and leading technical initiatives.
Familiarity with CTO/ETO environments and configuration management.
