**Are you up for the challenge?**:
Due to continued growth, we are currently looking for a** Group Manager Engineering and Design Management (Infrastructure)** to join our national TEK (Technology, Engineering and Knowledge) division. This role can be based in Brisbane, Melbourne or Sydney.

Working within our TEK Design Management team, you will be responsible for providing leadership within the TEK group and broadly across the John Holland Design and Engineering Management cohort, supporting development pathways, promoting best practice ways of working and assisting in identification and placement of appropriate resources to tenders and projects.

A key element of this role is the requirement for close interaction and engagement with John Holland Infrastructure pre-contracts and project-based personnel to understand forthcoming market trends and resourcing needs and the participation in tender submission, review, and project launch activities.

The role of Group Manager is essential in coordinating high-performing Design and Engineering management resources and position John Holland as a market leader in the design and delivery of critical Infrastructure projects.

**Key Accountabilities**:

- Actively participate in selection and engagement of design consultants with bid and project resources and provide appropriate commercial support
- Lead the collaboration with Engineering Management resources across the business to ensure consistency in practice and knowledge sharing
- Participate in project-based Design and Engineering Management related recruitment and appointments and mentor Design and Engineering Management resources
- Promote a culture of business excellence across the Design and Engineering Management cohort through accountability, innovation, and transparency against all performance objectives
- Attend Conferences and presentations/ workshops to promote John Holland to the wider industry
- Work with projects to provide accurate reporting in all aspects and within the required time frames.
- Create strong Technical Partner relationships to identify work winning strategies and partnerships
- Invest in people development within TEK and the broader cohort to support business strategy
- Plan people resources to balance business priorities
- Create and maintain key stakeholder relationships and seek opportunities for collaboration
- Support project-based Design and Engineering Managers to develop alignment between the project team’s capabilities and functional business objectives
- Liaise with regional pre-contract managers to ensure TEK services are appropriately identified and nominated to participate in all relevant bids
- Perform as lead TEK representative to Project Launch activities, coordinating support from across the broader TEK group and actively assisting the project team to appropriately establish the Design and Engineering Management systems and processes to deliver successfully

**About You**:
This position will require you to hold a degree qualification in Engineering and have extensive post-graduate experience in technical management roles on significant multidisciplinary projects.

You will have previously managed and mentored tender and delivery teams in the establishment of best practise and have a methodical approach throughout bids and active projects to ensure safe and successful outcomes.

To succeed in this role, you will be an experienced, collaborative, inclusive and decisive leader, with proven Financial, Commercial and Program Management skills developed through holding senior roles within a project or corporate environment. The ability to build and nurture relationships, utilising your excellent stakeholder management skills, is essential.
