We're building a talent pool of Contracts Officers (L4) and Senior Contracts Officers (L5) to support exciting infrastructure projects and long-term growth at the Department of Transport and Major Infrastructure (DTMI).

These roles will help deliver various projects and initiatives at DTMI, an example being the upcoming
Tantabiddi Boating Facility Redevelopment
, a flagship project enhancing access to the World Heritage-listed Ningaloo Reef. With floating jetties, fishing platforms, and up to 40 commercial boat pens, this future-focused facility supports tourism, safety, and sustainability, developed in consultation with Traditional Owners.

Your contribution will support regional growth, environmental stewardship, and community connection, bringing DTMI's purpose of empowering a thriving community to life.

About the Roles

As a Contracts Officer (L4
), you'll manage low to moderate risk contracts, support procurement planning, and provide advice on purchasing and contract management. We're looking for individuals with strong written and verbal communication skills, ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment, and with the initiative and willingness to grow.

As a Senior Contracts Officer (L5
), you'll take the lead on moderate to high-risk contracts, contribute to policy and process improvements, and support the delivery of complex procurement strategies. We're looking for individuals with considerable experience in complex procurement environments, knowledge of supply procedures and risk management, and advanced analytical and stakeholder engagement skills.

Current vacancies for immediate filling:

  • Contracts Officer (L4) – Two positions available:
  • One position fixed term until June 2026 &
  • One position supporting the Tantabiddi
    project, fixed term until
    June 2027
  • Senior Contracts Officer (L5) – One position available:
  • Fixed term until June 2026

There is a possibility of extension or permanency for all the above positions.

Suitable applicants will be placed in a pool from which appointments will be made for similar future vacancies (fixed term or permanent) that arise within the next 24 months from date of first appointment.
