Company Background:

A global commercial cleaning company is seeking an Estimator to be based in either Sydney or Melbourne, to assist with cost models for new and retention opportunities.

Position Overview:

As the Junior Estimator, you will play a crucial role in our business development efforts by crafting compelling costing models for inclusion in proposals and bids to win, or renew, contracts for commercial cleaning services. You will work closely with our Commercial and Operations teams to understand client requirements, develop tailored proposals, and effectively communicate the value proposition of our services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review and interpret tender documentation, specifications, and drawings
  • Conduct site visits and assess scope of works
  • Prepare detailed cost estimates, budgets, and proposals
  • Liaise with clients, suppliers, and internal teams to gather information and confirm requirements
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities and competitive advantages in bids
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, and industry regulations

Qualifications:

  • One to two years of estimating / financial analysis experience
  • Strong analytical and numerical skills with high attention to detail
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex ideas in a clear and compelling manner.
  • Strong research and analytical skills, with the ability to gather and synthesize information from various sources.
  • Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy in document preparation and proofreading.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple priorities and deadlines effectively.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with bid management software is a plus.
