The Company

O'Sullivan Financial are an independent, family owned and operated, self-licensed financial planning practice based in Brisbane. Our business was founded with one simple goal in mind: Make our clients lives better. We have built our reputation on unbiased advice, transparency and a client first approach.

We are growing quickly with increasing client referrals and need to expand our team to meet demand. We have a role available and the successful applicant will have the opportunity to learn and develop their skills under experienced and degree qualified advisers.

Our director and senior planner Mace O'Sullivan holds a Master of Financial Planning degree as well as a Bachelor of Commerce degree with majors in both Financial Planning and Accounting. He received the Bachelor's Medal for Commerce for achieving the highest overall result in his undergraduate degree (a GPA of 6.86) and completed his Masters with a GPA of 6.67.

The Role

We are looking to add a team member eager to engage in a client service role, while learning paraplanning to assist in the preparation of advice. The position offers the ability to grow into a senior client manager, paraplanner or financial planning role.

Duties will include the following:

  • Assisting with day-to-day client relationships, becoming the first point of contact for client enquiries.
  • Providing administrative support to the advisers and other team members.
  • Data collection from various providers and preparation of documents for client reviews.
  • Preparing simple advice documents and assisting with the preparation of complex advice.
  • Administration relating to implementation including, superannuation funds, investment funds, managed portfolios etc.
  • Other duties as required including general upkeep of the office.

The position offered is on a full time basis but some flexibility can be made with regard to work schedule if you are completing studies in financial planning.

Remuneration will be dependent on experience and the value you will bring to the firm. Regular remuneration reviews will be conducted and those that learn and grow with us will be rewarded accordingly.

The Candidate

To be considered for this role, you will have a passion for the financial planning profession and have a personality that allows you to engage well with other team members and clients. To be successful in this role you will also need to demonstrate the following:

  • Have completed or be nearing completion of a financial planning qualification
  • High attention to detail
  • Strong literacy and numeracy skills
  • A good knowledge of Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Professional presentation
  • Industry experience and/or experience with financial planning software viewed favourably but not essential
