**PURPOSE**
The role of the Course Coordinator is to take responsibility for a particular course and to support the planning, development, and delivery of the course.
**Reporting relationships and Key Stakeholders**
- This position reports directly to the Academic Director.
- This position works closely with Unit Coordinators and other Teaching staff.
- Reporting into this position are the Unit Coordinators.
Key stakeholders that this position must liaise with includes:
**Internal**
- Teaching staff
- Academic staff
- Professional staff
**External**
- Students
- Other higher education providers
- Community organisations
**Core Responsibilities**
The Course Coordinator is responsible for the academic leadership, quality and integrity of the course including;
- Leads the design, delivery, performance monitoring and review of course offerings.
- Leads discipline research that informs teaching and scholarly activity.
- Promotes and ensures the excellence and currency of the course.
- Ensures that the course aligns with equals’ strategic and learning & teaching plans.
- Where necessary, integrates with other courses and units.
- Monitoring, evaluation, and reporting associated with the course.
- Manages the evaluation of course quality and improvement.
- Ensures that relevant accreditations are obtained and maintained.
- Leads in the development and implementation of effective learning and teaching strategies.
**Course Management**:
- Applies discipline knowledge to course criteria.
- Develop appropriate course learning outcomes.
- Work with unit coordinators and teaching staff to ensure that unit learning outcomes are aligned with course learning outcomes in consultation with the academic director, to ensure the relevance and currency of the course.
- Contribute to student recruitment through marketing strategies and activities.
- In a timely manner as part of the moderation processes.
**Selection Criteria**
**Essential**
- **Educational Qualifications**_
Preferably holds a Masters degree or higher in Education, Social Work, Social Sciences or in a relevant field; or
Holds a minimum AQF level 8 qualification or equivalent in a relevant field.
**Personal Abilities/Aptitudes/Skills**
- A high level of teaching and assessment skills.
- A high level of academic competence.
- Ability to identify and respond appropriately to student learning and wellbeing needs.
- Good interpersonal skills and ability to interact with tertiary students, colleagues and other key.
- Liase with stakeholders in a constructive and productive manner.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and in collaboration with others.
- Ability to work to a schedule, prioritise and see tasks through to completion.
- Competence in delivering curricula and in developing educational materials/resources.
**Experience**
- Demonstrated experience in each of the above areas of Personal Abilities/Aptitudes/Skills.
- Considerable experience in the delivery and use of various technologies in the classroom setting.
- Considerable experience as a teacher in the relevant field of learning.

- Industry Experience (including community experience).
- Ability to identify and respond appropriately to student learning and wellbeing needs.
- Experience as an educator at tertiary level, preferably in learning areas relevant to the position.
- Experienced in developing appropriate and professional relationships with tertiary students.
- Knowledge of distance education/flexible learning methodologies.
- Knowledge of the Australian Qualifications Framework.
**Job Types**: Part-time, Casual
Part-time hours: 30 per week
**Salary**: $70,000.00 - $95,000.00 per year
