About The Role
The Campus Course Coordinator (Community Services) is a campus-based role, responsible for leading and managing the course delivery and academic experiences for Community Services students on campus.

The Campus Course Coordinator (Community Services) ensures coordinated delivery of subjects at the campus level, undertaking subject coordination, subject development, teaching, and academic support to sessional teaching staff. The Campus Course Coordinator also supports the integration of fieldwork placements within campus-based learning in Community Services and works toward the overarching goal of preparing ethical, and competent community service practitioners.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee academic quality and delivery of the Bachelor of Community Services program, ensuring consistency in teaching, assessment, and resources.
  • Manage and develop learning materials, ensuring they are current, high-quality, and accessible to students and staff.
  • Deliver teaching, assessment, and student consultations for relevant subjects, and conduct academic liaison visits for field placements as required.
  • Facilitate student engagement, support, and communication, addressing student issues and managing academic integrity matters.
  • Monitor course quality and lead continuous improvement processes for the community services courses.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with community, government, and professional organizations to ensure industry relevance.
  • Mentor and coach Lecturers and the Field Placements Coordinator, supporting their professional development.
  • Uphold Ikon's core values and ensure compliance with all relevant academic and regulatory frameworks (AQF, CWA, ESOS, National Code).
  • Engage in scholarly practice and professional development, and complete all required reporting.

Education & Experience

  • A Postgraduate Degree in Social Work, Community Services, Social Welfare, or Human Services, and a minimum of 3 years relevant industry experience or Bachelor degree with 5 years experience.
  • Full membership, or eligibility for full membership, of the Community Work Australia (CWA).
  • Knowledge of contemporary developments in the community services sector informed by continuing scholarship and/or practice.
  • Experience in adult education or tertiary education.
  • Exceptional written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills, with the capacity to handle complex or sensitive matters professionally and confidentially, with empathy and discretion.
  • Advanced problem-solving, organisational, and analytical abilities, including the capacity to manage multiple tasks, prioritise effectively, and meet competing deadlines with accuracy, attention to detail, and a proactive approach.
  • Demonstrated understanding of the accreditation requirements and Code of Ethics of Community Work Australia (CWA).
  • Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office suite of programs and demonstrated ability to learn, implement and promote the use of business systems and databases
