Actively participate in the promotion of a discrimination free workplace culture that values equity and diversity
- To appear as required in courts and tribunals, to prosecute industrial relations and labour hire licensing offences. Provide authoritative and strategic legal advice (both written and oral) on a wide range of complex and sensitive matters to the Director Industrial Relations Regulation and Compliance, Director Labour hire Licensing Compliance Unit, Executive Director Office of Industrial Relations, and the Minister. To provide training and competency development in matters relating to court process and evidential standards to regionally based inspectors. Provide expert input to regional case management meetings ensuring that investigations are conducted according to the rules of law and co-ordinate the development and provision of legal issues training to the Industrial Relations and Labour Hire inspectorates. Institute and maintain effective liaison between the Office of Industrial Relations and other relevant government departments and statutory authorities, in relation to enforcement issues. Provide legal assistance in policy development by identifying legal issues for consideration by policy officers. Provide legal advice in relation to the need for new amending industrial relations and labour hire legislation and the effect of existing or proposed legislation, which impinge on the Office of Industrial Relations programs. Provide representation on inter-department and inter-governmental committees where legal qualifications are necessary or desirable
