**About the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions**:
The Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (ODPP) represents the State of Queensland in criminal cases. The ODPP's significant responsibility is to prosecute criminal matters in the High Court of Australia, Court of Appeal (Qld), Supreme Court, Mental Health Court, District Court, the Childrens Court of Queensland and the Magistrates Court (in limited locations and matters).
**About your opportunity**:
This is a temporary flexible full-time position from date of commencement for a period of 6 months, with a possibility of an extension.
As a Principal Legal Officer, the incumbent will undertake the following:
Litigate confiscation proceedings in the Supreme Court or where required instruct counsel at hearings.
Supervise the work of less experienced Confiscations staff.
Identify and provide training to legal officers and paralegals in the office, and to police officers and officers of other agencies.
**Mandatory qualifications, conditions and requirements**:
You will be admitted as a Legal Practitioner in a State or Territory of Australia (please indicate date of admission).
Applications to remain current for 12 months.
