Blue Mountains City Council is responsible for a significant inventory of transport and
related stormwater assets that require management.
Displaying strong leadership and fostering a culture of organisational collaboration this
position leads a high performing dynamic team within the Transport and Public Access
service with key focuses on:

government departments and agencies;
suppliers and business contacts for project
support.
**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**
- The development and ongoing review of Asset Management and Service Plans
for transport and related stormwater assets and to inform service planning and
resource allocation.
- Asset data collection and management of the Asset Management System for
Council transport and related stormwater assets.
- Integration of safety and risk management into asset management.
- Development of renewal and upgrade programs for Council transport and related
stormwater assets for forwarding planning
- Development of policies and procedures to support the service delivery of Council
transport and related stormwater assets.
- Provide input into the development of strategic plans, policies and procedures for
Council transport and related stormwater infrastructure.
- Oversee the delivery of actions from the Community Strategic Plan, Delivery
Program and Operational plan for Transport Assets Team
- Managing, including the operation and surveillance, of the Wentworth Falls Lake
Dam to Dam Safety NSW requirements.
- Managing and coordinating the program areas and ensuring integration with other
areas.
- Develop, document and review policies, procedures and systems to ensure best
practice.
- Coordinate compliance activities as assigned from compliance actions and
external audits
- Ensuring asset handover inspections and asset data updates are performed for
new assets resulting from Council works programs, private and public
developments, and transport corridor works.
- Interpreting, acting and providing guidance on relevant sections of Australian
Standards, guidelines and legislation such as the Local Government Act 1993 and
the Roads Act 1993, as pertinent to transport and related stormwater assets.
- Managing the completion of transport and related stormwater asset reporting for
both internal and external stakeholders to ensure legislative compliance.
- Manage technical/professional consultants/contractors for identified projects.
- Develop budget estimates, manage and monitor expenditure for transport and
related stormwater projects and work activities
- Manage the investigation and response to service requests for transport and
related stormwater assets.
- Manage quarterly and annual reporting requirements for the Transport Asset team
- Develop reports and presentations for the Council as required relevant to transport
and related stormwater assets.
- Leading, motivating and coordinating the team to ensure that all projects and
activities are undertaken in an efficient and cooperative manner by:
o Promoting a vibrant, enthusiastic, motivated, and productive team culture;
- Monitoring performance of all staff to ensure that staff related policies and
objectives are met;
- Ensure that work and training plans are developed and implemented;
- Mentoring, coaching and developing staff so opportunities to succeed are
maximised.
