**The Role**
As a media officer in the Defence Media team, you will work with the Groups and Services communications teams to plan and deliver a range of activities and tasks, such as responding to media enquiries, producing media products for ministers and Defence seniors, and assisting with major communication activities, announcements and events.
Your attention to detail, strong written communication and excellent stakeholder management skills will be essential to ensure consistency of messaging and support the mission to protect Defence’s reputation.
**About our Team**
As a media officer in the Defence Media team, you will have exposure to the ministers’ offices and Defence senior leaders as you work to coordinate and craft media products, such as media releases and media enquiry responses.
The Defence Media team provides a unique opportunity to contribute towards management of complex, sensitive and routine issues affecting Defence on a daily basis. The Defence Media team is the main interface with media organisations and is at the forefront of planning for major Defence events and activities. The team consists of Canberra-based staff and communications managers in each of the capital cities.
