About the job

An exciting opportunity exists for an Operational Technology expert to join our wider IT & Automation Solutions organisation and provide high-level technical services to Alcoa’s Kwinana refinery.

As the Manufacturing Systems Specialist and reporting to the Operational Technology Lead Team, you will be responsible for the technical implementation, configuration and ongoing operational health and maintenance of the site’s manufacturing environment and associated network infrastructure.

In addition, your key contributions will be:
- Providing specialist technical support for all manufacturing service groups for which the IT/OT team have an operational responsibility- Developing and maintaining technology standards, documentation, and processes for OT systems- Sharing your expertise to other technology teams including projects; involving storage, computing or communication systems that relate to the OT environment.- Working as a team with the other established IT and OT support functions to share knowledge and workload where possible.- Supporting after-hours roster coverage and escalation of incidents or problems for offsite assistance.- Striving to meet and exceed defined Service Level Objectives established within the Operations team.- Performing associated manufacturing systems compliance tasks and corrective actions.- Following all relevant processes required for working at site.

About you

To play a part in our ongoing success we are seeking someone with:
- Tertiary qualifications in relevant field such as Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems, or equivalent extensive experience within an operational technology support role.-
- Working knowledge of MS Server and Client Platforms, VMware/ESXi and TCP/IP networking- Demonstrated experience in scripting and automation (e.g. Powershell).- Excellent communication skills with a strong client focus and ability to effectively communicate with and build positive relationships with technically and non-technically skilled customers.- Experience in managing Cisco networking equipment and / or exposure to Process Control Systems would be considered highly desirable (Honeywell and Rockwell Automation highly regarded).- Exposure to safety practices ideally within the mining or resources industry.- Strong time management, organisational skills with the ability to prioritise and multitask and work autonomously.- Proven IT change management, incident, and problem management skills.- Current WA drivers’ license.
