The Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) is looking to recruit multiple roles in the End User Computing (EUC) section within our Security and Infrastructure Branch. We are looking to fill these roles on a permanent basis at the APS 4 and APS 5 classification levels.
The roles can be undertaken at either of our offices located in Belconnen (ACT), Docklands (Melbourne), Sydney CBD or Geelong.
**About the Area**
You will be working in the Security and Infrastructure Branch - join us as we help the ABS navigate an increasingly complex and challenging digital environment. The ABS is a key agency in the Australian government’s push for digital services and unlocking the value of data to improve the lives of the Australian people. You will be helping us build, manage and support integrated, secure and robust solutions while working with ABS (and other government department) stakeholders.
We are seeking motivated people with skills in fields such as ICT (Information and Communication Technologies) support and infrastructure support. The role is best suited to people who would work well in a virtual team environment, have strong problem-solving skills, show initiative and curiosity and are able to work flexibly to agreed priorities and deadlines.

The position involves working in virtual teams across the country.
**This role is primarily office-based and not suited to working full-time from home.**
As an APS4 or APS5 in EUC you will be required to:
- provide technical expertise in the delivery of project objectives
- achieve results within a project or business delivery team in a multi-disciplinary setting
- deliver outputs from supplied specifications using agreed standards and tools to achieve well-engineered results to ABS standard
- build and maintain relationships with stakeholders
- contribute to building the future culture of the ABS.
ICT Support Analysts are versatile and could be asked to learn and carry out any of the following duties:
- provide technical support and advice for all End User Computing connected infrastructure (including laptops, printers, mobile / smart phones, tablets)
- assist with fleet and asset management of all ABS standard end user hardware items
- assist in the provision of a stable and reliable software and OS environment (including Windows and Office Products)
- provide support for Video Conferencing and Skype infrastructure, as required
- provide support and technical expertise in relation to property refits and associated equipment relocations
- develop and maintain knowledge documents and procedures relevant to EUC Delivery & Support functions (level 2/3 support) and our clients
- perform general administrative duties including invoice processing, stock takes, as required
- ensure regular engagement and collaboration with other ICT teams and hardware vendors for the purpose of facilitating client support and enhancing knowledge of ICT systems.
