The Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) is looking to fill the role of Team Leader in our Identity and Access Management Systems team. This is a permanent, full-time or part-time position at the Executive Level 1 classification level.

The successful applicant can work out of either of our offices located in Adelaide, Belconnen (Canberra), Brisbane, Docklands (Melbourne), Hobart or Sydney, although flexible working arrangements (including a hybrid model of working from home and the office) apply.

**About the role**

The Team Leader in our Identity and Access Management Systems team leads a multi-disciplinary team in the support and maintenance of the organisation’s Sailpoint and Okta infrastructure.

Responsibilities of this role may include:

- lead, manage and develop a small team of ICT Systems experts and align their operational activities towards strategic objectives
- lead and manage the procurement and ongoing maintenance of appropriate tools to satisfy monitoring, analysis, alerting and reporting requirements
- provide appropriate pastoral care and support to staff members
- champion the services provided by the section to the rest of the organisation
- provide input into forward work planning and forecasting
- report and raise items for discussion at the Cyber Operations Executive meeting
- prepare and maintain appropriate management documentation (e.g. policies, Terms of Reference, plans)
- identify ineffective or inefficient operations prime for automation or refinement
- make appropriate representation and provide expert advice at stakeholder meetings
- keep the Service Technical Support informed and engaged in all dealings.

**About the business area**

The Identity and Access Management Systems team consists of five people working across Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide and Hobart.

The team is part of the Cyber Operations Section within the Security and Infrastructure Branch. Our branch builds, delivers and maintains ICT infrastructure and platforms in support of ABS’ mission of collecting, collating, and disseminating official statistics to support decision making across Australia’s public and private sectors.

The team is responsible for the support and maintenance of the organisation’s Sailpoint and Okta infrastructure. Sailpoint provides a role and access management (RAM) capability and is also used to administer all user account provisioning and deprovisioning. Current plans will see Sailpoint move from on-prem infrastructure to cloud hosted Software as a Service (Saas) licence model.

Okta has been selected as the Bureau’s preferred external Identity and Access Management (IAM) system and has been implemented using a SaaS model. Early adopters include the Accounting Software Program (ASP) and there are plans to see the product used more widely in the future to replace our External Identity Access Management (XIAM) solution used for Data Acquisition systems.

**What we are looking for (selection criteria)**

To be suitable you should have most or all of the following skills, qualities and experience:

- experience in (or knowledge of how to) successfully lead high performing teams located across multiple sites
- demonstrated effective communication and engagement skills with a range of stakeholders including management, clients, technical resources and vendors
- experience in recruitment, procurement and contract management, strategy development and work program planning, delivery and reporting
- knowledge and experience of in the management of Identity and Access Management (IAM) systems including Sailpoint and Okta.
