Global manufacturing company seeking a Purchasing Officer for a short-term assignment in South Sydney. The position has the potential to go permanent after the initial assignment.

**Your new role**

The Purchasing Officer is responsible for planning and procurement of materials and services, ensuring continuous operation to increase customer satisfaction and to meet demand. Your responsibilities will include
- MRP of stocked items, raw materials and finished goods in line with strategic procurement
- Purchasing of raw materials and finished goods from local and overseas suppliers
- Create and maintain receipt routings and delivery tracking in a timely manner
- Understanding of import/export and various international shipping requirements
- Update and maintain ETA’s
- Confirm and acknowledge orders
- Update records and all stakeholders to optimise inventories
- Provide assistance to warehouse in regard to stocktake counts if required

**What you'll need to succeed**
- Purchasing and inventory management experience with a strong emphasis on MRP in an ERP environment.
- Strong computer skills including sound Excel spreadsheet competencies.
- Strong analytical and process orientation.
- A high level of oral and written communication skills.
