**Why your role matters**

The Manager, Scholarly Communications Librarian provides high-level expertise and strategic advice to the University and individual researchers on the changing modes of scholarly publishing and communication, in order to increase visibility and impact of UNSW’s scholarship and knowledge assets.

**About You**:

- A degree from a higher education institution, with a depth of subsequent relevant experience, postgraduate qualifications with relevant experience, or an equivalent level of knowledge gained through any other combination of education, training and/or experience.
- Excellent presentation skills and demonstrated ability to deliver informative and influential presentations and resources, to convey and advocate complex and innovative solutions.
- Ability to provide Library staff and researchers at all levels with high level and detailed information, advice, strategies and solutions to the complex contractual and copyright issues and problems prevalent in scholarly communication and publishing environments.
- Ability to develop and implement strategies to ensure the successful implementation and researcher uptake of scholarly communication policies, and services which support the research impact of individual researchers and research programs.
- Demonstrated high level communication, interpersonal and negotiation skills with ability to influence and sustain relationships with stakeholders at all levels, both internal and external.
- Demonstrated experience in managing and leading a team in a dynamic, matrix working environment.
- An understanding of and commitment to UNSW’s aims, objectives and values in action, together with relevant policies and guidelines.
- Knowledge of health and safety responsibilities and commitment to attending relevant health and safety training.
