**The Role**
The Strategic Communication Branch is seeking social media and communication officers at the APS5 and APS6 levels.
We are recruiting for several ongoing and non-ongoing roles across the Strategic Communication Branch, including:
- Army
- Navy
- Air Force
- Joint Capability Group
- Defence Science and Technology Group
- Security and Estate Group
A merit pool will also be established to fill vacancies in the Branch.
**Social Media Officers**:
These roles develop and implement creative social media campaigns and content. They manage our day-to-day social media; developing engaging content, planning, monitoring, publishing, and conducting evaluation using analytics tools.
We have access to high-quality military photography and videography for our social media, visit our channels to see more.
**Communication Officers**:
These roles are responsible for developing and implementing integrated communication campaigns that include creative writing, design briefs, branding collateral, media and community engagement and social media engagement.
**About our Team**
The Strategic Communication Branch has employees embedded across the Groups and Services of Defence and is responsible for day-to-day media and communication operations. Strategic Communication Branch provides a range of services including media and public affairs support to Ministers, Senior Defence Leaders and Defence Groups and Services, strategic communication, social media and imagery and videography services.
Strategic Communication Branch is a large branch and provides numerous career opportunities for communications professionals and emerging public sector leaders seeking to strengthen their credentials.
- A good understanding of social media/communication best practice.
- The ability to work effectively as a team player.
- Good judgement to manage competing priorities, maintain attention to detail and provide advice on social media/communication issues.
- Initiative, flexibility and a willingness to learn.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- The ability to build positive, collaborative working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
There will be some opportunities to travel domestically and see the ADF in action.
Rostered duty and out of hours work may be required for some roles.
Flexible working arrangement can be negotiated.
