Job type: Full time

**Salary**: $109,730 - $132,764
Occupation: IT and Telecommunications

**About us**
The Department of Government Services (DGS) was established on 1 January 2023 to improve everyone's experience of doing business and interacting with the Victorian government. We bring important day-to-day services together in one department to make things easy and seamless for Victorians and businesses. We are doing this by connecting and digitising our systems and platforms across state and local government as well as streamlining our corporate and procurement services.
**About the role**
**The Technical Writer will be a vital contributor to the CCP program, a key initiative within the Digital Transformation Group that is modernising government services across the Victorian Public Service (VPS). This program is focused on delivering cloud-based platforms to streamline HR, Procurement, and Finance processes, and your expertise will be critical in providing the necessary documentation and support for these evolving technologies.
You will be responsible for creating, managing, and maintaining a variety of technical documentation and user support materials across multiple platforms and technologies, initially for SAP SuccessFactors, ServiceNow, Oracle but will expand as new technology platforms are onboarded. This includes user guides, FAQs, workbooks, communication to end users and knowledge bases that ensure users across various government departments have the resources they need to effectively utilise these systems.
A central responsibility will be the oversight and maintenance of the VicGov People Compendium, an online repository that consolidates all design decisions, documents, and governance methods used in the creation of the Human Capital Management (HCM) system, VicGov People. This Compendium includes comprehensive details on business processes, policy frameworks, technical material, and user adoption strategies, serving as a crucial reference for operational staff and stakeholders as new technologies are integrated into the CCP program.
You will collaborate closely with IT professionals across different streams (Project/BAU/Continuous improvements), consultants, and Service Integrator teams across various technologies to ensure all documentation is accurate, up-to-date, and aligned with end-user needs. Your contributions will directly support the CCP program's objectives of increasing productivity, improving VPS mobility, and delivering more effective services across the Whole of Victorian Government, ultimately helping the government achieve its broader digital transformation goals.
**About you**
To be considered for the role, you must be able to demonstrate:
- Experience developing, writing, and maintaining high-quality technical content, including user manuals, FAQs, knowledge base articles, workbooks and online self-help repositories, tailored to end-users across a range of technologies, but not limited to SAP SuccessFactors ensuring all documentation is clear, concise, and accessible, and adheres to departmental guidelines and accessibility standards.
- Experience designing and managing the department's online knowledge base, ensuring it remains a comprehensive and up-to-date resource for both end-users and internal stakeholders across a range of technologies, with regular reviews and updates reflecting changes in the systems, new functionalities, and departmental processes.
- The ability to work closely with IT professionals, functional consultants, and change management teams across different technology stacks to gather information, understand user needs, and translate technical details into user-friendly content, while liaising with stakeholders to ensure documentation meets business requirements and supports effective user adoption across various platforms.
