**The Role**
As the Assistant Director of Defence Learning Technologies you will:
- Have a leading role in the design and development of future focused strategies and technology roadmaps.
- Use your coordination and project management skills to drive the implementation of key projects including enterprise Learning Analytics, Learning Record Store, xAPI content, and video content delivery systems.
- Be required to manage the sustainment, security accreditation and continuous evolution of several Moodle based enterprise learning delivery platforms. Through your effective relationships with key stakeholders across the Defence you will ensure systems and services you manage, meet their current and future learning needs.
- Mentor and professionally develop the members of the Defence Learning Technologies team ensuring they have the most up to date knowledge on global technology trends and innovations that enable learning.
- Provide direct support to the Director Defence Learning Technologies to implement, sustain and evolve the broader Defence’s Learning Technology Environment (DLTE). This will require writing and communication skills of a high order and the attributes to act at the Director level when required.

The Defence Education, Learning and Training Authority (DELTA), working within the Australian Defence College, ensures Education and Training across Defence is supported by high performing and resilient learning systems.
In this capacity, DELTA works to Commander of the Australian Defence College to set the strategic direction, provide higher-level policy, governance and oversight of the Education and Training Domain for all Defence: Navy, Army, Air Force, and the Australian Public Service. This includes management of the Defence Registered Training Organisation (DRTO), developing and maintaining the Defence Learning Technology Environment (DLTE), exploring and exploiting new learning technologies to enhance access to learning, and Information Steward for the Education and Training Domain.
Within DELTA, the Defence Learning Technology team is an integrated workforce of 20 military personnel, Australian Public Service officers and supporting contractors.
