**The Role**
The APS 6 DLE Policy & Governance Officer is responsible for complex policy and governance activities to ensure DELTA complies with Defence legislation and policy in conducting its business efficiently and effectively while supporting strategic initiatives to transform Defence’s Learning Environment to meet future education and training needs.

The position will be responsible for coordinating and consulting internal and external stakeholder engagements to review and refine governance and business practices and to generate, implement and sustain robust resilient and effective business processes across the enterprise learning environment.

This role is also responsible for generating records of meetings and briefs and reports to inform senior leaders. The role is also responsible for ensuring action items from meetings are addressed. Previous experience working in a similar role is desirable but not essential.

**About our Team**
The APS 6 DLE Policy & Governance Officer will work as part of the small Defence Learning Environment team, within the broader directorate of DELTA (Defence Education, Learning and Training Authority) at the Australian Defence College.

Strong team collaboration and communication skills are desirable for this role as there will be regular engagement with internal and external stakeholders, followed by generating, implementing and sustaining appropriate and robust governance and business practices to effectively support the Defence Transformation Strategy and HR and E&T Reform.

The role will be responsible for the collation of information, feedback, and input from E&T stakeholders to support the E&T enterprise position and requirements. This APS 6 role will be accountable for organising their tasks and making independent decisions relating to their area of responsibility. They will coordinate administrative and business support activities for the broader team, identify risks and support appropriate actions to meet stakeholder needs. They will support engagement and negotiation with stakeholders on complex issues to achieve business outcomes and work collaboratively, build and sustain effective relationships and constructive feedback.

In particular, the role will require extensive consultation with internal and external stakeholders. This position will be responsible for the coordination of engagements for senior DELTA staff with key senior stakeholders.
