The Role You will work to the Assistant Director Defence Learning Technologies and be responsible for supporting the management of enterprise technologies that enable the delivery and administration of Education and Training to the Australian Defence Force.
You will provide application and business management support to project definition, business case development, project initiation, introduction into service and sustainment of enterprise learning systems.
You will have opportunities to provide input to the stewardship of an enterprise program of work, coordinating activities as needed with Defence and external stakeholders to achieve defined outcomes.
The role will also encompass managing the development and sustainment of applicable business as usual (BAU) application procedures, security documentation, policies and processes as they relate to systems you are responsible for.
Managing system risk is an important function and you will help to ensure system risk as it pertains to security, privacy and functional performance is managed in accordance with Departmental procedures and processes.
You will also provide input and support to the service management and continuous improvement framework for the enterprise Defence Learning Technology Environment.

The Defence Education, Learning and Training Authority (DELTA), working within the Australian Defence College, ensures Education and Training across Defence is supported by high performing and resilient learning systems.
In this capacity, DELTA works to Commander of the Australian Defence College to set the strategic direction, provide higher-level policy, governance and oversight of the Education and Training Domain for all Defence: Navy, Army, Air Force, and the Australian Public Service.
This includes management of the Defence Registered Training Organisation (DRTO), developing and maintaining the Defence Learning Technology Environment (DLTE), exploring and exploiting new learning technologies to enhance access to learning, and Information Steward for the Education and Training Domain.
Within DELTA, the Defence Learning Technology team is an integrated workforce of 20 military personnel, Australian Public Service officers and supporting contractors.
Our Ideal Candidate We are looking for a candidate who: Holds relevant qualifications and/or demonstrated experience to succeed as a manager in the learning and technologies environment.
Is passionate about developing an ecosystem of technologies that enable and manage learning across Defence.
Our ideal candidate must be highly collegiate and collaborative in dealing with a wide range of stakeholders to deliver high quality outcomes.
Has experience with the management of projects, Introduction into service and sustainment for enterprise technologies.
Is highly proficient in Microsoft Office Suite 365, Visio and MS Project.
Can manage and provide guidance and support to team members/contractors.
This includes overseeing performance management and supporting professional development.
Can oversee contract management processes, including budgeting, forecasting and tracking expenditures to ensure alignment with financial goals.
Is a confident and persuasive communicator with the ability to explain complex technical concepts in plain language.
