**The Role**
The APS 5 Quality Assurance Coordinator is responsible for coordinating the quality assurance activities of the Defence Registered Training Organisation (DRTO) within the Department of Defence.
This position will support the Vocational Education and Training (VET) quality assurance activities required to maintain compliance as an Enterprise RTO. Quality assurance is a critical aspect of ensuring that training courses and assessments meet the evidence requirements of national qualifications and skill sets, and that the qualifications awarded meet the industry standards that they represent.
Previous experience working in an RTO is desirable but not essential.
**About our Team**
The APS 5 Quality Assurance Coordinator will supervise two APS 4 Quality Assurance officers within the small Defence RTO Assurance team within the larger DRTO operational team.
The DRTO operates within the National Skills Framework Team, within the broader directorate of DELTA (Defence Education, Learning and Training Authority) at the Australian Defence College.
The DRTO provides national accreditation to the whole of Defence. Strong team and collaboration skills are desirable for this role.
Within the HR Delivery function an APS 5 Learning and Development Officer is accountable under limited direction to perform and achieve moderately complex to complex learning and development work within an integrated workforce. They are accountable to have and maintain a well-developed understanding of and compliance to relevant legislative frameworks, government decision-making and Defence’s mission and policy requirements.
An APS 5 Learning and Development Officer will be accountable for organising their workflow and making independent decisions relating to their area of responsibility. They will interpret and provide advice within the HR delivery function based on legislation, policy and procedures. They will undertake specialist research and analysis, conduct reviews, assessment, investigations and perform procedural, clerical and administrative support work to achieve results.
It is desirable that applicants have demonstrated experience with quality assurance of training or Human Resource (HR) data, use of data bases, spreadsheets, client engagement and the ability to undertake analysis and comparative tasks within a legislated framework.
It is desirable to hold a current Certificate IV Training and Assessment (TAE16 or 22) or be willing to undertake this qualification or its relevant skill sets.
