The unit works closely with divisional directors and managers. The role generally provides advice and helps managers with generalist HR matters such as underperformance, case managing employee relations issues and providing advice on the implementation of HR policies and procedures. They are also accountable for the day to day administration and delivery of HR services, including:

- supporting recruitment activity, advertisement of jobs, safety screening, production of letters of offer and other new starter processes
- providing advice and support in general HR matters and the teams are the primary contacts for resolving issues about terms and conditions of employment.
- build and maintain strong client and stakeholder relationships;
- deliver excellent customer service;
- advise and support resolution of complex queries;
The HR Adviser will be responsible for supporting strong client and stakeholder relationships to foster effective HR practices. You will provide advisory services, guide managers with complex people management issues across the full range of human resources and employee relations issues including VPS Agreement and policy interpretation, performance management, underperformance, conflict resolution and generalist recruitment advice.

**Accountabilities**:

- Provide advice on HR policies, practices and general HR queries.
- Create and maintain sound working relationships, provide authoritative and timely advice and take follow up action as required.
- Provide quality administrative support to ensure all employee records and changes to employment arrangements are correctly applied for, actioned within required timelines and recorded accurately on SAP.
- Work collaboratively with key stakeholders to maintain the integrity of the department's organisational structure and staffing establishment through the department's human resources management system (SAP).
- Assist in the development of less experienced team members and participate in self - development to ensure the HR skills and knowledge levels within HR Advisory Services are of a high standard.
- Advise and support managers with performance management issues, escalating more complex issues as required.
- Support recruitment activities, ensuring hiring managers are supported and are provided with advice throughout the recruitment, selection and on boarding processes.
- Identify and collaborate on the development and implementation of new and changed strategies and practices, to improve the quality of people services outcomes across the department as required.
- Keep accurate and complete records of your work activities in accordance with legislative requirements and the department's records, information security and privacy policies and requirements.
- Take reasonable care for your own health and safety and for that of others in the workplace by working in accordance with legislative requirements and the department's occupational health and safety (OHS) policies and procedures.
- Demonstrate how the actions and outcomes of this role and work unit impact clients and the department's ability to deliver, or facilitate the delivery of, effective support and services.
