We are seeking a junior Legal Secretary to join a Queensland government department
**Your new company**
Is a statutory authority that provides a free-will making service for all queenlanders. They also offer enduring powers of attorney, deceased estate management including the auction and sale of property, and hold unclaimed money. They are often appointed as financial administrators for people who have impaired capacities to manage their money.
**Your new role**
Is a secretarial-focused role which will include but is not limited to:
- Accurate transcription of digital dictation, word processing and typing
- Diary management, organising meetings/ conferences
- Preparation, distribution of agnea, minute taking
- Collate and assemble briefs and ministerial correspondence
- Preparation of legal documents
- Use of Affinity (legal practice management system)
- Maintain filing and records
- Monitor appointment schedules, court diaries
- Manage incoming calls and visitors
- Assist the team with billing, time recording, opening, closing and archival of legal files
- Arranging couriers and assisting with mail
**What you'll need to succeed**
- Previous secretarial legal experience
- Use of Affinity or similar legal records management system
**What you'll get in return**

- 6 week contract with opportunities for extension
