**The Role**
We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic APS 6 Technical Officer - Electronics-Electrical to join the Land Countermeasures Reprogramming team.

This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with a team of experts across a unique work force consisting of Australian Army members, Australian Public Servants and contracted engineers.

In this role, you will contribute to reprogramming, testing and validation of Force Protection Electronic Countermeasure Systems (FPECM) for land based operations. Your sound technical knowledge, communication and interpersonal skills will have a direct impact on Defence capability.

**About our Team**
Land Countermeasures Reprogramming Cell is a highly skilled professional team drawn from a diverse workforce. The team collaborates with other Defence agencies to reprogram and test FPECM data files for operational use to protect deployed Australian Defence Force personnel. Several times a year, some team members form a smaller trials team to test the complete system over the air.

This activity is conducted remotely. The team is supported by a project that is introducing the next generation of FPECM technology. With changing technology, Army and the APS provide FPECM specific technical training and other professional development opportunities to ensure that Army’s capability needs are met.
- Knowledge and experience in electrical, electronic, communications, telecommunications or RF disciplines
- Exposure to operating RF test equipment including spectrum analyzers and signal generators
- Good oral and written communication skills, including the ability to interpret and convey technical information to a diverse range of stakeholders
- Ability to build and sustain positive relationships with team members, actively participate in team work and motivate and mentor developing technicians.

On a day-to-day basis, you will:

- Employing EW techniques to optimise the resources and performance of the FPECM system
- Bring your knowledge and experience to bear on technical problems
- Perform complex technical activities and associated tasks working to agreed priorities and outcomes
- Exercising assigned technical authorities and any Technical Regulatory Authority delegations
