The Electromagnetic Warfare Intelligence Maritime Systems Program Office (EWIS-Maritime SPO) is seeking a highly professional, motivated and experienced APS 6 Security Advisor to join the RAAF Base Edinburgh Team. The successful applicant will be accountable under broad direction to perform, contribute, and achieve complex security work and facilities management and planning within an integrated workforce.
This integral position is relied upon to provide detailed security technical, professional and policy advice in relation to complex work and contribute to strategic planning, program and project management and policy development to the EWIS-Maritime SPO and maintain positive security culture and environment.
The Security Advisor is responsible for maintain close links with a range of Defence Industry security partners, managing key stakeholder relationships and identify relevant expectations and concerns to develop communicate methodologies and procedures. This position requires good stakeholder engagement skills; excellent communication skills and a sound understanding of compliance to relevant security related legislative frameworks and policy requirements.
An understanding of ICT security requirements is advantageous.
Duties may include:
- Identify, research and analyse complex protective security issues, and provide recommendations and advice;
- Management of Security Incidents;
- Support the development and delivery of security awareness training;
- Coordinate and respond to Branch security enquiries and taskings;
- Collate, research and analyse protective security issues to produce high-quality reports, submissions, briefings and discussion papers;
- Provide support to Senior Security Advisors in delivering security services to EWIS Maritime-SPO.
The right person for this role will show the flexibility to respond to the changing context and shifting priorities of the Defence environment to achieve business outcomes and is accountable to contribute towards ongoing self-improvement and professional development.
**About our Team**
EWIS-Maritime SPO currently manages a number of electronic warfare systems fitted to both the surface and sub-surface fleet, such as the Nulka Decoy product and various Sensors and Electronic Attack products in both acquisition and sustainment phases. The SPO delivers these capabilities to both the Australian Defence Force and United States Navy.
EWIS-Maritime SPO is widely dispersed across Australia with this position based at Edinburgh SA The successful applicant will participate in an integrated team, including APS, military and contractor staff, to ensure the supported Electronic Warfare capabilities are delivered to the ADF and supported in accordance with operational and compliance requirements, budget, and service agreements.
- Provide detailed security, technical, professional advice which will contribute to program and project management and planning;
- The ability to think strategically, allocate work, resources and tasks, set work area priorities, develop strategies and evaluate business outcomes;
- Accountability for accurate completion of work within timeframes, share own expertise with others and guide and mentor;
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, building team cohesiveness by contributing to and sustaining productive and collaborative relationships;
- Have excellent communication and stakeholder skills and the ability to work within a diverse team in a fast paced and highly variable environment.
