**About the organisation**

Boeing Defence Australia is shaping the future of aerospace and delivering some of the nation's most important programs for the Australian Defence Force (ADF). Our team consists of engineers who develop modifications, repairs and continuing airworthiness services to support the fleet of Boeing-managed aircraft in the ADF.

**About the role**

We are seeking a highly motivated **Avionics Senior Technical Officer** to join the team sustaining the world class airborne surveillance, communications and maritime patrol system; the P-8 Poseidon. Based at RAAF Base Edinburgh, you will be reporting to the Avionics technical lead and will be working collaboratively within a mutli-disciplinary engineering team. You will be supporting the Engineering Services for a fleet of aircraft for one of our customers.

**Duties**

As a Senior Technical Officer within Boeing, you will:

- Liaise with the customer and maintenance organisations regarding technical issues;
- Provide technical guidance to our customer;
- Assess, review and provide technical input to engineering change management;
- Prepare technical reports, briefs and draft technical instructions and orders;
- Proactively improve processes and systems;
- Work towards gaining Engineering Authority and Delegations on the platform you will be supporting;
- Engage effectively with team members, leaders and technical representatives including P-8 technical and engineering teams, customer interfaces, United States Navy personnel and Boeing Global Services.

**Experience/Qualifications**
- Have relevant practical experience in an avionics/electrical technical background
- Hold a Certificate IV / Advanced Diploma / Associate Diploma / Certificate of Technology or equivalent in Aircraft Avionics or related discipline

Previous experience in aviation engineering activities relating to design development, engineering investigations, maintenance or sustainment is highly desirable.
