**The Role**
As the APS 4 Health Clerk you will be the leader and 1st level supervisor of the Health Clerk team (up to 10 staff), and a key member in the Primary Health Care Team model, in order to allocate tasks, monitor workloads and set priorities to meet required medical admin outcomes, and provide triage support to the health centre.
- You will have the management training/experience and skills to manage and lead a diverse, high tempo team.
- You will be highly adaptable and able to manage change at short notice.
- You will foster customer service within your team.
- You will have the ability to liaise with external stakeholders including other health service providers and facilities including the ADF members, Doctors, Nurses and Allied Health.
- You will have strong written and verbal communication skills; relationship building skills; demonstrated ability to work in a busy team environment; a strong work ethic and ability to maintain confidentiality; and be proficient in the Microsoft Office Suite.
**About our Team**
- The Health Clerk team is the face of the Edinburgh Health Centre and the Administration hub.
- The APS 4 Health Clerk position reports to the APS 6 Medical Admin Nurse Coordinator.
- The team is a mix of APS and contracted Health Clerks and, at times, is augmented by ADF Reserve members and contracted Enrolled Nurses.
- This team manages: initial patient streaming (triage), medical appointments, referrals, specialist bookings and military medical administration processes.
- Medical Administration / senior health clerk or health service manager experience (e.g. Practice Manager of a large GP clinic).
- Experience in leading and supporting a small but diverse team and manage a high-tempo customer service area.
- Possesses a strong IT skillset for Microsoft Office programs and high willingness to learn unfamiliar IT systems.
- Strong communication skills.
- Commitment to learn and desire to work for Defence.
