Our Rare Earths deposit in Mt Weld, Western Australia, is acknowledged as one of the highest-grade Rare Earths mine in the world and we operate the world’s largest single Rare Earths processing plant in Malaysia - so you’re joining a very unique team As a team member you will be contributing to the sustainable supply of rare earths metals which are used in oil & gas, electric vehicles and wind turbines.
Lynas is embarking on an expansion in Western Australia and we’re looking for a motivated Payroll Officer wanting to join us on our journey. In this newly created role, you are crucial in delivering timely, consistent, and effective pay solutions and services. This role is responsible for processing the monthly pay runs, administering leave entitlements, and answering general payroll related queries.
As a highly valued member of the Lynas team, you will:
- Answer Payroll queries from employees, management, and external agencies.
- Meet all payroll administration cut-offs, deadlines, and schedules.
- Administrate Worker’s Compensation issues.
- Ensure the effective and efficient processing of superannuation administration.
- Create and maintain employee payroll master files and ensure the data is acted upon accurately and in a timely manner.
- Administer Long Service Leave returns.
- Provide various reports as necessary for payroll.
- Work in collaboration with Group Accountant for STP and other finance compliance and reporting.
- Understand the link between payroll transactions and FBT, and work with the Group Accountant to identify and report relevant FBT transactions that occur through payroll.
To be successful in this role, you will possess the following:
- Qualifications in Pay Administration or Accounting (essential).
- Similar experience in relevant role, e.g., payroll, experience interpreting contracts of employment, and awards as they relate to payroll.
- Ability to work effectively within a hybrid team environment.
- Exceptional organisational skills.
- Ability to prioritise and maintain attention to detail in a dynamic work environment.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and written communication skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
