Aurecon is committed to creating an inclusive culture that embraces diversity, equity and inclusion - and we provide our people with flexible working opportunities.
We believe diverse teams enable us to solve our clients' and society's most complex problems in unconventional and distinctive ways. We offer flexible working as it enables all our employees to balance work and life in way that works for them.
Aurecon is an Employer of Choice for Gender Equality, as awarded by the Workplace Gender Equality Agency, and is a founding member of The Diversity Agenda in New Zealand. We also have a Reconciliation Action Plan and hold Bronze Employer status in the Australian Workplace Equality Index for LGBTI+ inclusion. Across our company, inclusive leadership is role modelled from the top and is an expectation of all.
Our flexible way of working includes our flexible start and finish times, working from home, part-time and job share options. Aurecon also offers 14 weeks paid parental leave, three weeks paid partner leave, and other health services and benefits.
If this is how you would like to work, we’d love to hear from you. We welcome people of all identities, from all backgrounds, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and people with diverse accessibility needs. We’re curious about your career path and how we can support you to be your best.
The Role
This is a newly created part-time role reporting to our Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Manager. You will play a pivotal role working broadly across the diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) function and will assist with many new and ongoing projects.
Here are the key things you will do to ‘bring ideas to life’.
- Play a key delivery role in the DEI function, and be involved in strategic planning
- Support DEI reporting and submissions e.g.: Workplace Gender Equality Agency mandatory reporting and Employer of Choice submission, AWEI submission for LGBTI+ inclusion
- Support the implementation of our Reconciliation Action Plan
- Act on recommendations from the Australian Network on Disability
- Review and drive actions with relevant stakeholders within the business
- Liaise with the ANZ DEI Council, regional DEI Networks and affinity groups to support the delivery of the ANZ DEI Plan
- Build strong relationships and partner with our key stakeholders
- Develop communication materials to drive DEI outcomes, including employee case studies
What we are looking for:
- Experience working within a Diversity, Equity and Inclusion function
- Experience in project management
- Experience with some of the reporting requirements indicated above
- Experience developing strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders with demonstrated influence to inspire and drive change
- Outstanding communication and organisational skills
- A thirst for knowledge and a desire to take risks and try different things
- An unconventional thinker who will make this role their own
We value the difference each team member brings. We look for people who have had a broad range of experiences and who hold a growth and learning mindset.
