Metro Trains Melbourne (MTM) are currently recruiting for a Diversity, Equity, Inclusion (DEI) and Engagement Specialist to join the Safety & People team.

Reporting to the DEI & Engagement Manager your role is to support planning, implementation and maintenance of DEI and Engagement initiatives and reporting so that outcomes promote an inclusive working environment where employees feel connected to the business, appreciated for their effort and comfortable to be their authentic self at work.

This is a permanent position based in our head office in the CBD. Metro values face to face collaboration with an expectation that employees will be in the office three days per week. Our teams office days are Monday and Tuesday. We foster an inclusive environment so please talk to us if you require an adjustment or flexibility.

Key Responsibilities
- Act as the key contact for MTM DEI and Engagement resource groups
- Manage DEI and engagement platforms, including overseeing user access, permissions, and promptly addressing technical issues to ensure seamless operation and data integrity.
- Manage the collation and analysis of MTMs DEI and engagement reporting
- Manage internal and external DEI and Engagement reporting requirements.
- Undertake analysis of DEI and Engagement data to identify and celebrate trends supporting strategic objectives and identify trends or issues inhibiting the delivery of strategic objectives
- Review reporting processes and data to continually improve DEI and Engagement reporting outcomes
- Facilitate the implementation of cyclical engagement initiatives
- Manage research, planning, delivery, and relationships with DEI providers for assigned DEI programs, initiatives, and events so they are delivered on time, within budget and success measures are achieved.
- Monitor the implementation and outcomes of DEI and Engagement initiatives
- Collaborate with relevant internal stakeholders
- Support regular reviews or relevant DEI and engagement procedures
- Collaborate with People Delivery Teams to develop and deliver bespoke knowledge sessions
- Provide SME advice and guidance to support the development of recruitment campaigns
- Monitor and maintain DEI and Engagement documents.

About You:

- Relevant tertiary qualification or relevant experience in a similar role
- Foundation knowledge of current DEI trends and topics
- Demonstrated knowledge of relevant legislation and best practice.
- Experience in understanding and articulating business value in effective DEI practices and leveraging this value to drive positive change in DEI within an office based and highly unionised workforce.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement skills across all organisation levels.
- Experienced in supporting the delivery of initiatives into a highly regulated and complex environment.
- Ability to distil complex data and analytics into easily understood information leaders can utilise to inform business decisions.
