**About the role**:
Reporting to the Director Policy, Equity and Prevention, the Manager Diversity, Equity and Inclusion will lead a team to drive reform-wide approaches ensuring equity, inclusion and responsiveness to the needs of diverse communities. The Manager will also respond to and coordinate Mental Health and Wellbeing input into WoG/State-wide policy development and action plans and support the Division to be inclusive of diverse communities needs in the design, development, delivery and monitoring of mental health and wellbeing programs and services.

**How you'll make a difference**:
The Manager will operate in a complex and demanding environment, requiring capacity to exercise sound judgement, liaise effectively with senior executives and build relationships with key people, particularly working in partnership with the Diverse Communities sector (CALD, Disability and LGBTIQ+) to support their engagement with the mental health reforms.

**Suitable applicants will be able to demonstrate**:

- Provide timely expert advice and develop open and effective communication strategies including collection of highly complex, contentious or sensitive information on matters of staff or business.
- Review, prepare, and present detailed, comprehensive reports, briefs, cabinet and agency submissions on complex policy and operational issues as well as preparing regular and ad hoc reports and correspondence.
- Strategically design and develop the delivery of departmental objectives that impact significant localised service delivery and meet statewide departmental and government objectives and community expectations.
- Maintain an understanding of issues impacting the department's clients and investigate and lead critical projects that develop and review policies, professional standards and operating practices that enhance service delivery, budget effectiveness, efficiency and improved client outcomes.
- Forge strong connections across the department and with external stakeholders to facilitate a partnership approach.
- Identify and actively manage emerging issues and areas of risk for government, department and the community
- Provide strategic thinking and future planning and oversee change management initiatives and integrated approaches to enhance compliance with department-wide policies

- Demonstrate how the actions and outcomes of this role and work unit impact clients and the department's ability to deliver, or facilitate the delivery of, effective support and services
