We are seeking a capable and motivated Project Finance Officer to support our team at the Nauru Regional Processing Centre. The position will be based in Brisbane however some national and international travel may be required.
**About the Role**
In your role as a Project Finance Officer, you will be responsible for managing and reporting financial information to the organisation’s Finance Manager. The role will record transactions, compile and analyse data, perform audits, assist with budgets and financial forecasting.
**General Duties include but are not limited to**:
- Oversee financial transactions daily to ensure data accuracy and relevant obligations are met
- Assist monthly account reconciliations for Balance Sheet and Profit & Loss Statements
- Assist in the preparation and analysis of Financial Reports including budgets and forecasts in line with company policy and procedures
- Assist in the preparation and processing of payments as required and develop process improvements
- Assist the Finance Manager in ensuring that key controls over revenue and cost recognition, including related balance sheet accounts are maintained at all times
- Analyse relevant month end results against budget, including identification of anomalies for further investigation
- Ensure the integrity of capital in progress (CIP) balances
- Ensure accurate accounting for unread consumption accruals
- Assist the Finance Manager in the development of forecasts and budgets, including identification of financial trends that improve the effectiveness of the budgeting process
- Provide assistance in the provision of information for the year end external audit process, including the preparation of variance analysis
- Assist with financial projects as needed
**To be successful in this role you will have**:
- Post-Graduate, Degree in Accounting and/or Finance and related industry work experience
- Understanding of basic Australian Accounting Standards
- Strong Excel skills, including experience with TM1 and the Oracle Net Suite (or similar financial and management information system) (highly desirable)
- Well-developed quantitative, financial and analytical skills, with the ability to interpret financial and non-financial information
- Ability to effectively communicate to various stakeholders
- High level interpersonal and time management skills
- Ability to make sound judgments and the capacity to resolve complex problems
