**About the Opportunity**

As the Design Manager you will lead, design, develop and deliver world class environments for the Endeavour Group brands that align with the brand’s strategic direction. An innovative entrepreneurial mindset and the ability to seek new opportunities to improve all formats, while ensuring all design is commercially viable and customer/ team focused is critical. You will be responsible for the development of all aspects of the environment design.

You will lead the design management of projects, engaging and managing all key internal and external stakeholders including business leadership and departments, design agencies, architects, engineers, suppliers and manufacturers and ensuring that projects are delivered on time and budget.

This position will bring together your design experience and commercial prowess. You will be someone who is always looking to innovate, improve costs and implement process efficiencies, whilst enhancing the retail experience and overall appearance of our stores.

**A day in the life of a Design Manager at Endeavour**:

- Lead the design of new formats from concept through to standardisation for Endeavour Group brands, ensuring alignment with brand and business strategies.
- Manage and influence senior stakeholders via formal and informal means to ensure full support of design across all brands.
- Develop and refine ways of working that improve efficiency, cost and quality of design outputs across projects and generally within the Endeavour design team. Establish cadence for consistent reviews of ways of working.
- Develop new and manage existing relationships with external agency and supplier partners ensuring quality and consistent levels of service.
- A hands on approach in prototyping and testing of new customers and use experiences in both the physical and digital space.
- Strong knowledge of retail or industrial design in terms of fixture design, lighting, finishes and signage.
- Excellent understanding of construction means and methods including a strong knowledge of relevant regulations, codes and legislation (i.e. BCA requirements and knowledge of building codes in different states would be beneficial)
- Continually optimising the production process for maximum efficiency
- Research and identify design trends and educate the broader design team via presentations, site visits, research trips etc across all design disciplines.
- Create, lead and drive the design programs, setting clear deliverables, accountabilities and deadlines.
- Management of all external design agencies, architects, consultants, contractors and suppliers in conjunction with relevant Build leads and project managers.
- 25% travel required

**What you’ll need to succeed**
- Positive self motivated team player with enthusiasm for the role and a passion for the work that they deliver
- The ability to think outside of the square with new in ways of approaching the D&C process
- 5+ years retail design/design management/architecture/ interiors/ industrial design industry experience
- Proven results in leading both internal and external designers/agencies/ consultants/ contractors/ suppliers in collaborative partnerships throughout concept development to deliver major projects to brief, on time & budget.
- Ability to manage stakeholders throughout the design process via formal and informal means to ensure business-wide buy-in to new initiatives, anticipating and mitigating potential success inhibitors before they arise.

**Desirable**:

- 3+ years client side
- Conceptual retail and/or hospitality design experience.
- Capable in 3D Visualisation programs, CAD Programs and emerging technologies
- On site construction experience
- Understanding of construction methodology highly regarded
