**The Role**
The Supply Support Governance & Assurance Officer will work within the AORCASPO to oversee and ensure that equipment, spares, and associated Defence Logistics Information Systems (LIS) are being effectively and efficiency managed to support the delivery of capability. You will be involved in a range of maritime sustainment activities, including in-service inventory management, asset management, and disposal of materiel systems.
The role will be required to lead the supply chain governance function to provide confidence that the relevant Defence legislation, policy, and processes have been adhered to. Acting as one of the Local Site Administrators for the AORCASPO, this includes ensuring that the products transitioned from acquisition or newly introduced at sustainment, have all been appropriately loaded into and are managed appropriately within the relevant LIS. Close liaison with the AOR In-Service Support Contractor will be required in support of the above.
Technical expertise across Inventory and Finance systems, and knowledge of Inventory Procurement, Logistics Assurance, and Performance Management are highly desirable. A level of knowledge of how Inventory interrelates to Maintenance and Engineering, and configuration management would also be beneficial. **About our Team**
The AORCASPO is part of the Major Surface Ships Branch (MSS) within Maritime Systems Division (MSD). We are a diverse workforce, which includes Australian Defence Force personnel, Australian Public Servants and Defence Industry Partners. AORCASPO sustains a range of maritime capability, from the new replenishment oilers (AORs) to auxiliary commercial vessels.
The AOR vessels carry fuel, dry cargo, water, food, ammunition, equipment and spare parts in operational support for the deployed naval or combat forces operating far from port on the high seas. In addition to replenishment, the ships can be used to combat against environmental pollution at sea, provide logistics support for the armed forces, and to support humanitarian operations and relief operations following natural disasters.
The auxiliary commercial vessels include maritime aviation and navigation training vessels, a border force protection cutter, as well as submarine search and rescue capabilities.
You possess highly developed written communication skills which will be necessary for developing plans and instructions, formal correspondence as well as in support of management reviews. Your excellent interpersonal and verbal communication skills will be utilised to regularly liaise with a range of internal and external stakeholders.
You will be someone who genuinely fosters a curiosity for innovative possibilities and improvement opportunities, and an enthusiasm to learn and drive change in order to gain efficiencies. This is a desk-based position involving computer use and working with others towards shared goals in a collaborative and fun team environment.
