**The Role**
The Maritime Docks and Marine Services Systems Program Office (MDMSSPO) located at Garden Island in Sydney are seeking a Marine Asset Manager to join our team. Assets under management include small craft (Harbour Tugs, 15m general purpose workboats, Stebers, Self-Propelled Water Fuel Lighter (SPWFL), dive boats, flat top lighters and historical craft), and other ancillary assets (buoys, markers, trailers and pontoons). The key responsibilities of the position are as follows:
- Lead, plan and deliver projects across the asset management and materiel logistics areas.
- Translate Naval materiel seaworthiness and other technical regulatory requirements, and incorporate these into planning and decision making processes.
- Implement and coordinate processes and procedures that support logistics in accordance with Defence requirements.
- Act as the Principal Support Manger, who controls the supply chain, within the SPO, Industry Partners and DMSS In-port AMSDO.
- Manage a varied workload to meet the objectives of the workgroup. Activities may include tracking certification status of Assets, representative duties at asset dockings, travel to regional sites for asset assurance activities, optimising asset utilisation and day to day problem solving of asset related issues.
- Stakeholder engagement is a strong focus for the role, with the position being required to engage extensively with customers, industry partners, team members and other Defence stakeholders.
**About our Team**
The Maritime Docks and Marine Services Systems Program Office (MDMSSPO) is based at Garden Island in Sydney. The focus of the MDMSSPO is to partner collaboratively with industry, to govern and assure the delivery of capability that is seaworthy, efficient, effective and economical. The MDMSSPO enables the availability of the Captain Cook Graving Dock (CCGD) at Fleet Base East, through collaboration with our industry partner at Garden Island.
MDMSSPO also governs and assures the Defence Marine Support Services In-Port and Towing Services Product in support of Navy. The Marine Asset Manager will be part of a dynamic team dedicated to governing and assuring the assets that are part of the In-Port and Towing Product for Defence. With the MDMS SPO currently building our team, plans and processes, there are opportunities for the Marine Asset Manager to contribute ideas and expertise. - Acquire knowledge of Australian Maritime Safety Authority (AMSA) National Survey of Commercial Vessel (NSCV) and naval seaworthiness management system requirements in a maritime environment.
