**The Role**
The Amphibious Combat and Sealift Systems Program Office is responsible for the sustainment of the Landing Ship Dock and Landing Helicopter Dock ships. The organisation delivers Asset Management, Engineering, Maintenance and Inventory Management services to ensure the ships are available to Navy in a seaworthy state.
The EL 1 Logistics Manager will lead a team of Commonwealth Defence Force and APS Logistics and Supply Chain Management specialists to govern and assure Supply Chain Management service delivery by the In Service Support (ISS) Contractors, to assure compliance with logistics and Defence Supply Chain policies and to identify and implement improvement initiatives by:
- Setting the strategic and operational objectives for the LHD and LSD supply chains to achieve Seaworthiness and Capability and Business goals.
- Lead, mentor and develop the members of the Supply Chain team
- Govern the development and implementation of Supply Chain work practices and performance KPI’s for delivery by the ISS Contractors
- Lead the daily assurance of forward and reverse logistics in a complex Defence environment
- Manage departmental budgets and performance reporting
- Oversee demand planning by the ISS contractors for the capabilities, ensuring inventory optimisation
- Oversee, govern and assure inventory procurement functions
- Overall responsibility for delivery of the ISS Contractor’s annual Inventory Investment Plans.
- Improve service levels, maximise efficiency across Supply Chains.
- Collaborate with Maintenance and Engineering functional leads.
- Continuous focus on improvement within Supply Chains.
- Manage organisational change within the areas of Logistics Management and the Supply Chain.
**About our Team**
The EL 1 Logistics Manager leads the Supply Chain management team, which is an integrated team of Defence and Industry (ISS Contractor) personnel. The team is responsible for delivering a range of materiel logistics functions within the Defence policy framework, including inventory investment planning, inventory procurement, repairable item management, inventory allowance management and warehouse management.
Key attributes and experience we are looking for:
- Demonstrated Defence Maritime Sustainment Supply Chain and Logistics Management experience
- Thorough knowledge of Defence Maritime logistics policies, procedures and practices
- Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, including strong emotional intelligence, resilience and adaptability
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to negotiate and build relationships with stakeholders
- High level organisational skills, self-drive and initiative with the ability to influence others to achieve tasks and business objectives
