Are you passionate about public health and ready to make a real impact in your community? Hobsons Bay City Council is seeking a dedicated and dynamic **Environmental Health Officer** to join our Planning, Building and Health Department.

This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a forward-thinking team that supports healthy environments and works collaboratively to protect and enhance the wellbeing of our residents.

**What you’ll be doing**:

- Conduct inspections and assessments under the Food Act, Public Health and Wellbeing Act, and related legislation.
- Respond to community health complaints and support environmental investigations.
- Provide expert advice to businesses and the public on food safety, communicable diseases, and public health issues.
- Monitor swimming pools and spas for compliance with regulations.
- Collaborate across departments, state agencies, businesses, and community groups.

**What we’re looking for**:

- A degree in Environmental Health or equivalent, with eligibility for professional association membership or recognition by the Victorian Chief Health Officer.
- Some experience in environmental health or related public service role.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and customer service skills.
- A current Victorian driver’s licence and computer literacy.
- A passion for continuous improvement, public safety, and community wellbeing.
