**About the Department of Employment and Workplace Relations**

**The Role**
The Employment Conditions Division is seeking result-oriented, highly organised Executive Assistants to provide administrative and operational support to Senior Executive Service (SES) officers within the Division. The Employment Conditions Division is at the forefront of providing high-quality policy advice to support the Government’s workplace relations agenda. We have policy responsibility for the minimum terms and conditions of employment through the National Employment Standards, modern awards and protections against termination, discrimination and harassment that cover the employment of millions of employees and employers across Australia, with a particular focus on women, casuals and part-time workers. We provide whole of government advice on the intersection of employment conditions with skills, training and education, discrimination and superannuation, as well as targeted measures to boost the participation of jobseekers and indigenous Australians. We represent Australia internationally and work closely with unions and employer associations to improve the working conditions for workers in our region.
**Duties and Responsibilities**
Under limited direction, the Executive Assistant will undertake a wide variety of activities related to executive support, which may include, but are not limited to:
- Undertake administrative tasks such as organise travel arrangements, financial reconciliation of credit cards, invoice acquittals and support procurement activities.
- High level communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to build and sustain productive working relationships with a range of internal and external stakeholders.
- Ability to work with independence or under limited guidance and exercise judgement in decision making.
- Manage branch coordination activities and assist with workflow management, ensure tasks are completed, deadlines are met, with the right level of priority placed on them.
- Ensure briefing materials are prepared, including Senate Estimates, and undertake secretariat functions when required.
- Work collaboratively with other Executive Assistants and the broader WR business areas.
