**About the Department of Infectious Diseases**

The Department of Infectious Diseases is a recently established department of the Melbourne Medical School, Faculty of Medicine, Dentistry and Health Sciences that is based at The Peter Doherty Institute for Infection and Immunity (Doherty Institute). Research within the department encompasses infectious diseases including antimicrobial resistance and healthcare associated infections, malaria, HIV, tuberculosis, influenza, viral hepatitis, sexually-transmitted infections, skin pathogens and emerging infectious diseases such as COVID-19.

**About the Role**
Professor Deborah Williamson is seeking to appoint a dedicated Study Coordinator to join the team working on a MRFF funded pathogen genomics research project, Meta-GP: delivering a clinical metagenomics platform for Australia. Based at Peter Doherty Institute for Infection and Immunity, this role will be required to coordinate the research programme at collaborator clinical and research sites across Australia. This role may also involve clinical duties such as coordinating sample collection at hospital sites and assessing participant eligibility through clinical notes and liaising with patients and their treating team.

Responsibilities include:

- Project management including overseeing the project plan, stakeholder engagement, management, monitoring, budgeting, evaluation and reporting.
- Collection and accurate recording of quantitative and qualitative data, maintenance of data integrity and confidentiality including minuting meetings and preparing reports.
- Assist in completing necessary records and reports in accordance with GCP principles for ethics and other institutional and external reporting requirements.

**About You**
You will be required to work collaboratively within a nationally distributed team and must be highly organised, as well as able to communicate effectively with a diverse group of individuals and coordinate complex projects. You pride yourself on a high attention to detail which will be required in the planning of clinical trials and activities, preparation of documentation, compliance and reporting requirements.

You will also have:

- Completion of a degree in a biomedical field with subsequent relevant work experience; or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training
- Previous experience in coordinating a clinical trial, especially document and compliance with ICH/GCP and an understanding of regulatory guidelines including NHMRC and TGA
- Demonstrated project management experience in the management of research collaborations and clinical activities
