**Role Type**: 30.4 hours per week (0.8 FTE), 12-month contract
**Salary**: $98,836 - 110,582 p.a (pro rata) plus super
Parental leave contract
**Patient & Study Management**: Plan and coordinate study visits, conduct face-to-face assessments, handle finances, and prepare biological specimens.
**Stakeholder Collaboration**: Work closely with trial sponsors and the Principal Investigator to ensure protocol adherence and participant safety.
**The opportunity**:
The Research Nurse Coordinator role at the Melbourne Children’s has a particular focus on pharmaceutical industry sponsored Clinical Trials which investigate the safety and efficacy of prescription drugs and medications for children. These trials span a number of disorders and rare diseases in various therapeutic areas such as neurology, rheumatology, dermatology, gastroenterology, metabolic medicine, haematology and nephrology.
The Research Nurse Coordinator will be responsible for the planning and coordination of study visits, face-to-face assessment of study participants, management of study specific finances, blood taking and preparation of specimens for transport, and working closely with the trial sponsor and the Principal Investigator to ensure the trial protocol is being followed and the participants are safe and well informed.
**Your responsibilities include**:
Preparing and maintaining source documents utilising the electronic medical record (EPIC EMR) where possible
Assisting Investigators in the recruitment of participants and assist in the development of recruitment strategies
Identifying and communicating trial related issues to sponsor, Investigator and study team and contribute to the development of resolution strategies
Ensuring accurate data collection/data entry in accordance with agreed sponsor timelines
Contributing to processes supporting clinical research - e.g. Ethics committee processes; represents nursing in reviews of organisational processes supporting research on campus
**What we need from you**:
Bachelor’s degree of Nursing
Applicable Nursing Registration - Division 1 with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
Strong skills in planning, organising, and carrying out projects with a high level of attention to detail, organisational skills and efficiency
(Desired) Paediatric Nursing experience
(Desired) Pharmaceutical industry sponsored clinical trial coordination experience
