Exciting Study Coordinator Opportunity - Manage a High-Impact International Project
**The opportunity**:
This position offers an opportunity to coordinate a global health research project alongside the Principal Investigator, Dr Myra Hardy. The Study Coordinator will join the dynamic and diverse MCRI Tropical Diseases Group, which is led by Prof Andrew Steer. This study is a collaborative effort between MCRI, Kirby Institute at University of New South Wales, Medicines Development for Global Health, and Fiji National Ministry of Health and Medical Services.
The project is a randomised controlled trial of mass drug administration combinations for neglected tropical diseases (lymphatic filariasis, scabies and strongyloidiasis) in Fiji. The position will cover the project cycle of design, planning, and implementation. The role will involve living and working in Fiji for estimated 9 months providing support and direction to the study teams in the field. This role presents a dynamic blend of challenges and rewards, demanding a self-driven professional who thrives in a new environment and excels at overcoming obstacles with expertise and independence.
**Your responsibilities include**:
Managing project team to deliver required study outcomes
Contributing to the development of new study/research protocols and ensure the effective management of the study and care requirements of the participants are fully considered
Following and initiating standard operating procedures (SOPs), study/research protocols and guidelines, and work improvement practices
Assisting and contributing to data generation for research, publications and literature reviews
Collecting documents needed to initiate the study and submit to the sponsor (where applicable)
**What we need from you**:
Degree/Honours qualification in Science, medicine, public health or related discipline OR an appropriate level of experience in a relevant field
Ability to travel and live internationally - estimated 9 months living in Fiji
Appropriate level of expertise gained from a combination of experience, training or professional accreditation
Experience in participating in the planning, conduct and coordination of projects
Experience in managing multi-disciplinary and culturally diverse teams
**Desirable**: Experience in low
- and middle-income countries or similar environments
