**Position Information**:
The new Box Hill High School is due to begin construction later this year at Terrey Road, Box Hill. The school is located in Northwestern Sydney growth corridor which is seeing exponential growth of residential housing. The new school is expected to be open on Day 1, Term 1 2028 and will serve the community of Box Hill.

The school will open on a pop-up site on Day 1, Term 1 2026 for Year 7 students only. This pop-up site will be located on the grounds of the pop-up Box Hill Public School, George Street Box Hill. In 2026, the school will cater for Year 7 students and will include Year 8 in 2027 and will commence on the permanent site with students from Years 7-9 in 2028.

This role is to commence Term 4 2025, with the preliminary requirements of establishing a new school, new staffing, new processes and working collaboratively with the community and School Infrastructure NSW.

The new secondary school is designed to serve the rapidly growing number of local families in the area and will cater for 2 000 students, when stage two of the build is complete. The school will be built with 100 permanent teaching spaces and 7 support learning spaces.

The school will have close links with Box Hill Public School and Rouse Hill Public School, as partner schools.

Due to the unique and complex nature of opening a new school, the foundation Principal will be appointed prior to the school opening. This position will be classified as a P3 principal however, an allowance will be payable to the successful applicant at P4 level for a period of up to three (3) years after the school opening date at which time the principal classification process will be reviewed.

1. Demonstrated ability to cultivate and foster a positive and inclusive school vision and culture that actively engages and inspires the entire school community, in strong alignment with the Plan for Public Education.

2. Proven ability to lead with thoughtful insight, cultivating a highly visible and relational leadership presence; with high level skills in shaping effective systems that uphold the Department’s priorities and support ongoing evaluation and improvement.

3. Demonstrated ability to build and sustain collaborative, inclusive and high performing teams that promote a culture of innovation and high quality teaching and learning, with a focus on meeting the needs of all stakeholders within a new school context.

4. Proven resilience to navigate complex challenges, such as temporary infrastructure, competing demands, changing enrolment, with a solutions-focused mindset to deliver quality outcomes for staff, students, and the broader community.

**General Selection Criteria**:
1. High level educational leadership with the skills to lead and manage a complex public school focused on the delivery of high quality education

2. Ability to lead and manage rigorous and inclusive whole school teaching and learning programs

3. High level communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build positive relationships and engage all levels of the school and educational community

4. Ability to lead and manage the development and performance of staff to improve teaching and learning

5. Ability to plan systems and manage resources effectively and equitably to enhance teaching and learning

6. Capacity to lead staff in implementing the Department's Aboriginal education policy and to ensure quality outcomes for Aboriginal people
