Position InformationBoomi Public School is a small school located in a rural setting with a current enrolment of 7 students all of which live in the village. Boomi Public School offers a learning environment that caters very well for students in all curriculum areas relevant to stages of learning. The curriculum is comprehensive and innovative with a strong emphasis on literacy, numeracy, technology and the arts. The school offers many extra-curricular activities in the areas of sports and arts in collaboration with Barwon small schools.
Our school has a warm, caring, family environment where all students are valued. Through commitment and professionalism, the staff aims to create a stimulating learning environment which is safe and gives students confidence and the experiences necessary to adapt to new situations. Selection CriteriaIn addition to the general selection criteria, approval to teach infants and/or primary.
Within the dual role of the teaching principal and high-performing classroom teacher, demonstrate a proven ability to lead the implementation of curriculum and assessment practices to improve outcomes for all students.
Demonstrated strength in leading targeted professional learning and evidence-based practices to implement quality HPGE, differentiated learning and explicit teaching to ensure equity for all students and staff professional learning.
An open, approachable and collaborative leader with outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, who empowers staff and builds positive, authentic relationships with all members of a diverse rural school community.
High level educational leadership with the skills to lead and manage a complex public school focused on the delivery of high quality education
Ability to lead and manage rigorous and inclusive whole school teaching and learning programs
High level communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build positive relationships and engage all levels of the school and educational community
Ability to lead and manage the development and performance of staff to improve teaching and learning
Ability to plan systems and manage resources effectively and equitably to enhance teaching and learning
Capacity to lead staff in implementing the Department's Aboriginal education policies and to ensure quality outcomes for Aboriginal people
Classification Structure for Principals:
The Crown Employees (Teachers in Schools and Related Employees) Salaries and Conditions Award 2017 details the new principal classification structure based on complexity of schools which commenced in 2016. Please view information on the Classification structure for Principals at
The classification and remuneration of our school principals is based on school complexity, as measured through each school's RAM allocation. As part of the ongoing application of the new structure a review of thresholds and outcomes will occur on an annual basis. The principal classification for this school is Teaching Principal Level TP1 for 2026.
