**About Student and Scholarly Services**
Student and Scholarly Services provides student administration and services from recruitment and point of enquiry to graduation. This team also delivers wellbeing and scholarly services to students and staff.
**About the Role**
As the Program Officer, Melbourne Peer Mentor Program, you will be responsible for supporting the coordination and delivery of the University’s flagship peer-to-peer mentoring program, as part of the Student Life Advising and Mentoring initiative. Your role contributes to the university-wide program coordination of enterprise systems, business processes, administration and communications for the MPMP to ensure strategic alignment and operational excellence. Your role works closely with the Coordinator, Melbourne Peer Mentor Program and colleagues from Academic Divisions, Student and Scholarly Services and Business Services to ensure that resources, timelines, and support are relevant throughout program delivery and that there is a cycle of continuous improvement. A key milestone includes supporting the delivery of Orientation activities in partnership with the Melbourne Commencement Ceremonies.
Responsibilities include:
- Administer core business processes including generating lists and data as well as enrolling students and mentors into systems and groups, and liaising with academic divisions on local exceptions and adjustments
- Support program-wide training and development of Melbourne Peer Mentors, ensuring compliance with key policies and practices (e.g., Child Safety) and student leadership enablers such as Mental Health training
- Contribute to data management and reporting including maintaining dashboards for reporting
- Identify issues and risks with program delivery, escalating as appropriate and within agreed processes
**About You**
To be successful in this role, you will have advanced oral and written communication skills, with an outstanding ability to communicate and build rapport with diverse student, staff and stakeholder groups. Your high-level organisational skills will enable you to effectively work in a team and/or individually to ensure your workload is completed to meet deadlines. You will maintain a positive and professional ‘can do’ attitude to foster a collaborative team environment.
You will also have:
- A minimum bachelor level degree with subsequent relevant experience; or extensive experience and specialist or broad knowledge in administrative fields; or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and education/training
- Strong data skills, including an intermediate level of Excel (using pivot tables, V-look up, etc. to enable data manipulation)
- Demonstrable understanding of the academic, wellbeing and co-curricular context of the student experience
- To ensure the University continues to provide a safe environment for everyone, this position requires the incumbent to hold a current and valid Working with Children Check._
