**About the Department of Rural Health**

The Department of Rural Health is a department within the Melbourne Medical School at the University of Melbourne. Located in Shepparton, Ballarat, Wangaratta and Bendigo (in partnership with Monash University and La Trobe University) the Department has associations with more than 40 smaller rural towns in Victoria. The key purpose of the Department is to provide professional health education and research training in a rural context with an aim to increase the rural health workforce.

The Rural Clinical School forms part of the Department of Rural Health. The key purpose of the Rural Clinical School is to train students to become exceptional doctors by completing a four years of their Doctor of Medicine post graduate degree.

**About the Role**
Reporting to the Student and Programs Coordinator, the Student and Programs Officer is an integral part of the Rural Clinical School (RCS) team. This role works collaboratively with other Student and Programs Officers to support the effective delivery of teaching, assessments, exams and events for Rural Clinical School Students across four Rural Clinical School sites.

This position requires a team player who has exceptional administrative skills, excellent time management skills, strong attention to detail, ability to meet key deadlines, excellent communication and a strong commitment to providing an excellent customer (student) experience.

All members of the Rural Clinical School team attend and support the delivery of Student Orientation events and Exams across all Rural Clinical School sites, therefore scheduled travel between campuses will be required.

This position is expected to contribute to the planning and continuous improvement of team activities. This position must learn and maintain an awareness of Department, Faculty, and University values, policy, and activities relevant to the scope of the position.

Responsibilities include:

- Independent administration of a portfolio of activities related to the delivery of the Doctor of Medicine (MD)
- Completion of a range of student lifecycle activities including but not limited to timetabling; tutorial group allocation; generation of class lists; attendance tracking; collation/tracking of assessments and results and academic support
- Providing secretarial support to meetings/committees/working groups as required
- Travelling between sites to support the delivery of student activities including orientation and exams.

**About You**

You will be an experienced administrator with exceptional organisational skills and excellent attention to detail. You will be able to draw on your excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills, to establish and build relationships with a variety of stakeholders. You are a team player and have the ability to prioritise tasks to deal with competing demands.

You will also have:

- Appropriate tertiary qualification and/or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and education/training
- Experience in an administrative role supporting a range of functions
- Experience providing advice about, and interpretation of, policies and procedures
- A demonstrated commitment to providing an exceptional customer (student) experience including the ability to be flexible and anticipate, and responsive to, customer needs.
- Proven ability to work with mínimal supervision, set objectives, prioritise work and meet deadlines to produce quality output.
- To ensure the University continues to provide a safe environment for everyone, this position requires the incumbent to hold a current and valid Working with Children Check._
