We are seeking a passionate Youth Engagement Officer to join our Youth Services Team. The purpose of the team is to support young people’s involvement and participation in the life of the city. The team strives to identify youth needs and facilitate the development and implementation of strategies to meet those needs.

The key purpose of this role is to work collaboratively and constructively with young people and other stakeholders to support and enhance youth participatory structures, engagement and health and wellbeing.

The Youth Engagement Officer will be pivotal in maintaining a high standard of service delivery in the provision of information, advocacy referral and outreach programs and initiatives in the city that respond to and are reflective of the culturally diverse nature of young people.

**About you**:

- You have knowledge and an understanding of:

- youth issues and best practice principles
- legislation relevant to engagements associated with children and young people
- youth consultation/participation, restorative justice and social inclusion principles and processes, and
- relevant programs and funding.
- You hold a certificate IV in a relevant discipline, e.g., Youth Work or Community Service, or significant relevant experience.
- You have an ability to provide appropriate guidance and role modelling for young people, as well as a demonstrated ability in program and group activity development, delivery and evaluation utilising social inclusion strategies.
- You are available to work daytime, evening and weekends, as required.
