**The Role**
We have a permanent opportunity to join our Individual Insurance Distribution function as a Business Development Consultant (BDC) also known as a phone-based business development manager.
The purpose of this role is to proactively engage advisers and build strong relationships to grow our market share in line with the MLCL strategic plan.
With effective use of sales data to inform planning, the BDC will successfully identify opportunities to advocate MLCL proposition and win business. Leveraging solution-based selling, the BDC will execute Take to Market initiatives, onboard, enable, and influence Advisers to achieve education aim and sales targets
Your responsibilities will include:
- Working with the Head of Distribution (HOD) and Strategic Account Managers (SAM) on licensee engagement and execution of account plans.
- Planning and adhering to an ‘Ideal week’ in executing adviser interactions aligning to the Individual Life Insurance strategy (Sales process, territory management, focused sprints, calendar management, activity levels).
- Fact find completion for all advisers where you ‘lead’ and build appropriate engagement plan based on adviser needs including any senior management and/or broader business engagement to strengthen this relationship
- Driving collaboration and partnering with internal stakeholders across MLC Life to ensure consistency of adviser experience.
- Building the profile of MLC Life Insurance within your network of relationships.
- Adhering to CRM (Salesforce) data input & quality management standards.
- Proactively managing ongoing professional development and enterprise mandatory training.
**About You**
You are a natural communicator with highly developed verbal, written, presentation and influencing skills. You have demonstrated experienced building rapport, and you pride yourself on providing exceptional service to your clients.
You will also have:
- Minimum RG 146 compliance
- This is an LOA holding role and as such must meet the qualification requirements to hold an LOA.
- Higher education standards beyond a DFP such as ADF, bachelor’s degree in financial planning or other equivalent education is highly desirable.
