We now have an exciting opportunity for a **Business Development Consultant **. Owning the relationship with our merchants, the role of the Business Development Consultant is to highlight the best possible opportunities for our subscribers, partnering with a variety of different businesses devising marketing features that will assist them to increase and calibrate customer traffic. The **Business Development Consultant **proactively cold call clients, getting to know their business with the aim of bringing in the best deals for our subscribers. They use a distinctive consultative approach to client management and focus on a strong understanding of a business to deliver a mutually beneficial win, win, win solution. We're a "best of both worlds" kind of company. We're big enough to have resources and scale, but small enough that a single person has a surprising amount of autonomy and can make a meaningful impact. Does that sound like a compelling place to work? **You’ll spend time on the following**: - Close new business opportunities through cold calling to engage, consult, and close local deals over the phone - Take ownership of contract negotiation process, dealing with margins, discounts, and other critical elements - Use consultative selling strategies and knowledge of deal structure to reach merchants’ desired outcomes and maximize profit - Work with our Account Management teams post-close to ensure a smooth handover and transition of accounts post sale to align on merchant strategy - Drive market growth for both quality of merchants and revenue - Sell the benefits of Groupon as a powerful marketing tool and in addition be able to sell the range of marketing channels we employ eg : EDMs, search engine management, behavior triggered push notifications and affiliate marketing **We’re excited about you if you have**: - Prior experience selling either over the phone and comfortable cold calling B2B or B2C in a target / KPI driven sales environment - Strong consultation and negotiation skills, and hunting skills so honed, Bear Grylls would be jealous - The right balance of coach-ability and confidence, and are excited about the opportunity to further develop consultative sales skills - Comfortable in a competitive environment, with evidence of personal ambition to improve - You’re an excellent listener and collaborator, but knows when to be assertive, persistent, and persuasive - You are curious about people, local businesses, and possess the innate ability to inspire passion in others - You have an uncanny ability to focus in a whirlwind of change **What’s in it for you?** - Competitive remuneration package on offer - Birthday Leave to enjoy your day in style - Company wide Wellbeing Days to focus on you - Give back with Volunteering Days (2 per year) - Groupon Bucks & Staff Discount to spend up big and support our merchants - Recognition awards and celebration any chance we get **_Groupon is an Equal Opportunity Employer _** **#LI-Remote **Groupon is an Equal Opportunity Employer**:
